After SWISS started commercial service on 15 July 2016 with the world’s first Bombardier CS100, the new C Series has now been welcomed in Germany too.
On the evening of 1 September 2016 in Hanover, SWISS celebrated the first scheduled flight of their new Bombardier C Series CS100 in Germany. The brand new aircraft was greeted in style at Hanover airport with a “shower” courtesy of the fire brigade. Since 8 September 2016 the C Series has also been flying to Stuttgart. To begin with the CS100 will operate individual flights between Zurich and Hanover and/or Stuttgart and these will be gradually increased.
SWISS is the first airline operating the new short- and medium-haul aircraft, which was designed from scratch in collaboration with Bombardier. Thanks to the latest technology, the C Series sets new standards in terms of comfort, efficiency and environmental sustainability. Large windows bring a lot of daylight into the cabin which gives a feeling of ample space. The enlarged overhead bins ensure comfortable stowage. To the human ear the C Series is only half as loud as other aircraft of its size. In addition fuel consumption can be reduced by up to a quarter. SWISS has ordered a total of 30 C Series aircraft from Bombardier.
Since mid-July 2016 SWISS has been flying the CS100 to selected destinations in Europe, including Paris, Manchester, Brussels, Nice, Milan, Hanover and Stuttgart. With every delivery more European routes will be served by the C Series.
