In mid-December 2016, United Airlines welcomed into their fleet their first Boeing 777-300ER, one of the most modern aircraft featuring the completely redesigned United Polaris Business Class and a totally new cabin design on board. The wide-body aircraft will operate in regular service from February 2017.
From 16 February 2017 United is offering six return flights a week between Newark Liberty International Airport and San Francisco International Airport, operating this aircraft. In addition, in 2017 United also intends to begin service of all 14 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft the airline has ordered.
New Polaris Business Class seat
The United B777-300ER is the first aircraft to be equipped with the new United Polaris Business Class seat. Every seat is built like a private suite, has direct aisle access and can be individually transformed into a two-metre flat bed. Additional comfort details, include back massage functions, power outlets and USB ports, a large, high-resolution monitor for entertainment, electronically adjustable dividers and a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign.
The B777-300ER has 60 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration.
New cabin atmosphere
The cabin of United’s B777-300ER is modern and spaciously designed and consists of clear design elements. With the aim of creating a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere on board, dimmed LED lights are in use. Other specially chosen materials ensure that on-board noise is reduced and the flight as a whole is quieter.
Seats in United Economy have two entertainment options during the flight: a personal On-Demand Entertainment with a high resolution monitor and USB ports which the passengers can use for their own electronic devices to choose from lots of movies and TV programmes. There are also power outlets by the seat. The aircraft is equipped with Wi-Fi, like the entire United fleet.
The aircraft offers 102 seats in United Economy Plus, configured 3-4-3 per row with a seat pitch of approx. 85 cm. In United Economy the seat configuration is the same, and the seat pitch is approx. 77 cm.
